Whitby scoop unfortunately !
I think I might have to seriously consider how my blog is coming over, I’m picking such glamorous and exciting subjects !Previously we had my “rubbish day” story and then my more “mobile muck up day” and now I’m possibly I am superseding them all with my “Whitby pooper scoop” entry!
Unfortunately it has been the focus of my attention to a degree yesterday, I will explain if anyone can be bothered or face up to the grisly details.
My holiday cottage in Whitby is truly in the beautiful old yard with only five other cottages and that was one of the reasons I initially picked it, but recently this character yard as had a slight problem, dog poo!
When I was at the cottage about three weeks ago a lady who shall remain nameless and lives in the yard confronted me saying that my holiday tenants were letting their dogs poo and she proceeded to show me a little pile of you know what in the far corner of the opposite my cottage. I apologised and explained I was telling people to clean up if they bring their dog and even put a little poster on the wall in the cottage.
I obviously cleaned up the little mess and thought that would be the end, but what got me angry was that when I was leaving a few days later what did I find but the same pile, in the same place and without too much grisly detail of the same consistency and I had been the only person staying there and without the dog! I proceeded to walk down the yard to tell the lady it must be a visiting dog through the yard entrance which has a gate that is often open during the day, but only to find out guess what a few more little deposits looking very similar on the way down. After a little bit of Sherlock Holmes investigation I found out that she rents a house in the yard to a tenant who has guess what, yes a little dog! And the deposits were yes little. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the lady mentioned to tell of my findings but she will have known and seen these little presents before and will know exactly who the culprit is.
Anyway this is possible where my little story gets a little too extreme? Firstly when I first bought cottage almost 3 years ago because my company fits CCTV and Security Alarms, that is exactly what I installed in the cottage, only to be told by a letting agent in Whitby that none of the cottage in Whitby have such things because they are not necessary. So the security alarm has never been switched on, but CCTV camera has just been running constantly to a digital video recorder, which is in the loft locked out of the way. A few months back I had a broadband Internet connection fitted in the cottage and just because it was easy I connected the CCTV to the Internet but I’ve never bothered to login to watch until yesterday. Just out of interest I span through some of the footage only to find guess what, yes you’ve probably guessed the exciting facts, there was a little chap with four legs and a tail, trotting down the yard to a certain corner opposite my cottage and doing the dirty deed.
What shall I do next, post footage on You Tube and send her an e-mail with a link, or print out a wanted dead or alive poster, I’m not saying who would be on her or the dog !
No none of these but at least I have the glorious evidence, but thank heavens it’s only on film !
